individual reiki sessions

We offer three different choices for your Reiki session. Two options allow you to select which practitioner you would like to work with: Maryellyn or Deb. The third option brings in both practitioners for a shorter, more intensive experience.

One practitioner (Maryellyn or Deb)

  • 60-minute Reiki session with one practitioner ... $60.00

  • 90-minute Reiki session with one practitioner ... $90.00

Both practitioners

  • 40-minute Reiki session with two practitioners ... $60.00

“XXXX has done amazingly since the Reiki. Last night he was even silly and giving kisses. That’s HUGE! Today he is much chattier and more smiley. I really feel the Reiki did wonders for him and I’d love to continue the treatments for XXXX on a biweekly basis.”  – Mother of XXXX, a non-verbal 16 year old child with Cerebral Palsy

about reiki

Reiki (pronounced "ray-key") is Japanese for universal life force energy. Founded by Mikao Usui in Japan in 1922, Reiki is a powerful yet simplistic holistic healing practice that promotes the body's natural healing by activating the relaxation response. When the body and mind are relaxed, the body can work to repair and heal, and the mind may function with more clarity.

Today Reiki is used around the world in hospitals (including the Mayo Clinic in Minnesota, John Hopkins Hospital in Maryland and Northwestern Memorial Hospital in Chicago), medical care settings and private practices as a complementary modality to help accelerate healing and reduce pain associated with many illnesses.

The International Association of Reiki Professionals (iarp.org) has extensive resources and publications that describe the many ways in which Reiki has proven to be beneficial for a wide variety of both physical and emotional conditions. To find out more about how Reiki has helped those with a wide range of conditions, browse or search through Reiki Articles on the IARP website.

your first session

Our first session begins with a brief interview and filling out a client intake form.  We subscribe to the International Association of Reiki Professionals (IARP) Code of Ethics and maintain the strictest level of confidentiality with all client information.

Our Reiki sessions are performed on a massage table with the client fully clothed.  We use gentle hand placements unless the client prefers a session without touch. The session begins with the client on his/her back, and finishes with the patient in the prone position, so that all standard Reiki hand positions can be administered. If there is an area of concern, we will address that area more fully. We recommend a session of at least 60 minutes for your first session if possible to fully invoke the relaxation response.

Each client and situation are unique, but healing takes time and Reiki is cumulative.  After the treatment is completed, we will work with the client to determine appropriate follow-up.
